Dr. Mueen Bogis, Ph.D.
Dr. Mueen Bogis is a visionary landscape architect with over 15 years of experience dedicated to creating sustainable urban environments by integrating art, science, and green infrastructure to build resilient cities. He has earned 19 prestigious awards, including honors from ASLA, Land8, the Journal of Digital Landscape Architecture, and Virginia Tech. His international career spans the United States, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, where he has contributed to and led transformative projects, including urban parks, medical campuses, residential gardens, and commercial developments—several of which are currently under construction.  
Mueen’s research focuses on balancing ecological preservation with aesthetic demands in human-influenced landscapes. His recent NASA-funded work addresses urban heat reduction and climate adaptation in underserved communities. Inspired by these findings, his future research aims to develop equitable climate resilience strategies through nature-based solutions and community-driven design approaches for vulnerable urban areas.  
As an educator, Mueen has taught at Virginia Tech, the University of Oklahoma, King Abdulaziz University, and currently California Polytechnic State University. His teaching spans a range of subjects, including resilient design, sustainable stormwater management, landscape theories, and design studios focused on urban ecology and green infrastructure.  
Mueen holds a Ph.D. in Architecture and Design Research and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech, as well as a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from King Abdulaziz University.
